My first race!!

So the 10 km race was today... and I did it!! I finished in 55 mins, 56 seconds. I'm super happy with that time for my first race, especially since I was pretty sure it would take me about 70 minutes. I was definitely tired by the end but it was SO worth it!! The atmosphere of the race was awesome and I actually really enjoyed running with so many people... quite the change since I usually run alone. I'm not sure how many participants there were in total (there were 2 races: 10km and 20km) but I was number 7749, so quite a few! In my age category for the 10km, I came in 176th out of 520... : ) I now have a fun medal to take home with me and Sher took some pictures and a video of the start of the race, that I will put up here once she sends them to me. I have NO IDEA what I look like when I run so if they're hilarious... tant mieux but don't laugh too hard lol.

Tomorrow is the beginning of week 3 of classes. So far all is going well, one of the profs is crazy and no one likes her but we'll live. I have my first assignment due on Wednesday so that's... ugh... fun? Maybe not. We were warned before leaving Canada that the marking system here is pretty different from at home and that a 14 out of 20, for example, is considered to be good. It's gonna take some sucking up of my pride to accept that as being good, and to realize that I might not even get that, so hopefully perfectionist me will be able to handle that without too much difficulty. : P
